Driving in Lesotho
Driving in Africa is always an adventure. You never know what you are going to run into. Whether its drunk drivers, crazy minibuses or animals hogging the street, you are always in for something memorable. This was the case for my friend Mike and I as we drove through the lovely country of Lesotho. The unusual part is what we encountered on the highway.

Italian Football Needs to Get It Together

Italy is home of the reigning World Champions and reigning Champions League holders, AC Milan, along with many of the worlds greatest players playing throughout Serie A, including perhaps the worlds best in Brazilian playmaker, Kaka. Kaka was recently quoted as saying that he and other top international players currently playing in Italy would and should consider leaving because of fears for their own lives after numerous recent violent incidents have brought the safety of players and fans into question.

Jordan and Petra

People give the Middle East a bad rap. Perhaps for good reason at times, but not everywhere in this holy region is a mess. One such place is the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Jordan is home to some of the most impressive archaeological sites in the world. It is home to the Kings Highway, the most scenic highway stretch you can imagine winding in and out of majestic mountains. It also shares the Dead Sea with Israel and across the sea are a lot less tourists to muddy your swim. Additionally, Amman, Jordan’s bustling capital, is a melting pot of culture and curiosity. However, nothing can match the ancient Nabathaen city of Petra for sheer wonder. Jordan has it all and I will document this wonderful country along my trip from Jerusalem to Petra and the Gulf of Aqaba.

Downtown Cabo San Lucas
Downtown Cabo San Lucas is pretty much what you’d expect from a central area in a Mexican resort town. The only real difference between Cabo and some of the other Mexican tourist towns I’ve been to is that Cabo has a nice harbor in the downtown area that contributes a little something to the appeal. It has all the other little shops that sell the same Corona and tequila T-shirts along with a token Hard Rock Cafe and a bunch of bars and restaurants.

I Hate the Airlines
There is absolutely nothing worse and more frustrating than dealing with the airlines on the phone or in person for that matter. I just got off the phone with American Airlines who is acting as the lead airline on a split ticket I have with them and US Air to return to New York from Cabo. I want to come back a day early and they say that there is no availability on any single airline leaving Cabo for New York tomorrow all day. However, if I want, I can buy a one way ticket for tomorrow and be able to get on a flight. Now if they were full, how can I buy a ticket for tomorrow when they said they can’t switch my ticket? This is just one reason that besides parking ticket people and tow truck drivers, airline people are the worst to deal with because you simply cannot win.

The Palmilla in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is the way all hotels should strive to be, it has unmatched beauty and is one of a handful of properties around the world from the One & Only group. With the focus on impeccable service and the amazing upkeep of the property, you almost don’t mind the astronomical prices that you are paying. No request goes unfulfilled and you can’t possibly be wrong…and if by some chance you don’t feel like leaving your amazing room, your own personal butler can take care of literally anything for you.
