Circumnavigators Club

Last night, I went to my first meeting of the Circumnavigators Club. I had joined the club in January but was unable to attend the previous event. The event was held at one of New York’s most prestigious and beautiful clubs, the National Arts Club. I have to say that I really enjoyed the event. The food and service were first class and the members in attendance were incredibly interesting and very nice. I really love being a member of clubs like this and also the Travelers Century Club. This is because you end up talking to a lot of amazing and fascinating people who love to travel and have been to a lot of wacky places. It is great to get ideas from and to contribute ideas to others.

As a new member, I was officially inducted into the club in a small ceremony where they presented myself and another new member with a very nice framed certificate of membership. I was not expecting that at all and it made me feel like a part of the club. I really appreciated it. The evening concluded with an informative presentation on Borneo by two of the clubs members who had recently visited the Island.

I hope that some of the members will be looking at my website today and if they are I just wanted to say that I really appreciate the hospitality you showed to a new member and I really look forward to the next meeting. Thanks.
