I feel very proud to be a part of the award winning Allianz Travel Insurance team. Our marketing and public relations initiatives have been recognized as being tops in the industry at the prestigious Adrian Awards. As many of you know I, along with my friend and business partner, Johnny Jet, have been global ambassadors for Allianz Travel Insurance for 3+ years now. From the original Travel Trifecta to its current form of more than a dozen diverse and creative travel bloggers and influencers, I am thrilled to be a part of this great team.
Congratulations to Dan and the fantastic team of hard working people in Richmond at Allianz Travel Insurance. They gave us a chance to succeed with their great leadership, innovation, forward thinking, flexibility, open mindedness and global resources.
Also a big congratulations is in order to Justin and the awesome public relations team at Finn Partners who I work hand in hand with. They’ve always been so supportive and transparent with me which makes my job so much easier. Trust me, not all PR firms are this easy to work with.
On a personal level, this means a lot to me and is the second time one of my marketing campaigns has been recognized by the industry after a Tourism Australia campaign in 2014. I am just sorry I couldn’t attend the awards in person as I was in Thailand.
On a professional level, this program that is 3+ years old has become the gold standard in travel influencer marketing campaigns. I love that it’s ever evolving and we’ve welcomed so many great new people this year. I feel blessed to be a big part of it and I look forward to more great things in 2017 and beyond!
Here is the actual press release from Allianz Travel Insurance.
Global insurance provider Allianz Worldwide Partners won a Gold trophy in the category of PR Campaign – Influencer Marketing and a Silver trophy for Feature Placement Online – Trade Media during the 60th annual Adrian Awards, presented by The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) in New York City. The Adrian Awards Dinner Reception and Gala honored outstanding marketing programs for the hospitality industry in the areas of advertising, public relations and digital marketing.
Allianz Worldwide Partners and its marketing communications agency Finn Partners, were recognized for creating a three-tiered influencer marketing campaign, which incorporated brand ambassadors, travel influencers and content partnerships to raise awareness of its Allianz Global Assistance travel insurance brand.
“I’m honored to accept this Adrian Award on behalf of the talented group of travel influencers we’ve worked with to achieve our goal in raising awareness of the importance of travel insurance,” said Daniel Durazo, director of communications at Allianz Worldwide Partners USA.
Travel influencers were tasked to produce and publicize creative content for Allianz Global Assistance, bringing personality to the brand and elevating travel insurance to a must-have travel accessory when planning vacations. Allianz’s influencer program included well-known travel writers, bloggers and influencers such as Lee Abbamonte, the youngest American to visit every country.
“As a brand ambassador for Allianz Global Assistance, I have the exciting role of finding new, creative ways to bring attention to travel insurance – which is an essential element for ensuring peace of mind when traveling,” said Lee Abbamonte, travel blogger at LeeAbbamonte.com.
In addition to taking home the gold, Allianz Global Assistance also received a silver award for Feature Placement Online – Trade Media for a feature in which the writer told his story of a life-threatening emergency in a foreign country and how Allianz Travel Insurance helped him through it.
