This is a special group tour to Libya, organized and led by travel personality Lee Abbamonte.
Spend a week in Libya exploring Greek and Roman ruins and epic desert landscapes. After arriving in Tripoli we head south to Ghadames, a key trading centre in the middle of the Sahara desert, it now stands as an illustration of a mud built Berber town with Islamic architecture. We then return to the coastline to visit the Greek and Roman sites Sabratha and Leptis Magna, which are amongst the most complete roman ruins anywhere in the world.

Combine this Libya tour with Lee’s Algeria trip, running October 11-18, 2025.

We will be staying in three-star hotels throughout.
The trip is based on two people sharing. An optional single supplement is available upon request.

Transport:

When we choose our vehicles and drivers we take into consideration the road conditions, the length of journey and the competence of the man behind the wheel. Your comfort, enjoyment and safety of the journey is of top priority.

Guides:

You will be accompanied by an experienced English-speaking local guide.

Insurance:

A valid travel insurance is compulsory in order to participate on any Untamed Borders trips.

Security:

Trips to Libya do create dangers all of their own and whilst we want you to have as much freedom as possible, we must state that the guide has the final word with regards to changes in the itinerary for safety reasons. Whilst the route we have chosen passes through areas that we consider to be stable things can change and we may have to alter the route or cancel sections of the trip at short notice.

If there is an extra expense incurred due to the change of itinerary then you may be asked to bear part of that cost. For example, if we have to fly between cities rather than drive.
