How I Made it to the North Pole

…to the South Pole with me in 2014. I was excited to see everyone and meet new explorers. As it turned out we had a great group of people! For the three days before the expedition began there were a series of emails, Tweets and Facebook updates from the Barneo page that there was going to be a significant delay because of a giant crack in the ice runway constructed at Barneo by the Russians. Some groups had been in Svalbard for a week already and…

My TravelSmith Product Review

…ma Cotton Everyday Tee The Pima Cotton Everyday Tee was the first thing I knew I wanted from the TravelSmith website. I pretty much always wear tee shirts and I love V-necks in just about any color but black and white are without question my staples-just check some of my photos on my site or social media! The Pima Cotton Everyday Tee is a little different because it has long-staple cotton fibers that make it exceptionally soft and light. Plus, a t…

Euro 2016 Road Trip in France

…aftermath of the match, let me get to the match itself. The beautiful, and newly redone Stade Velodrome was a great setting for a big time soccer match. There were a ton of English fans as you’d imagine but there were also a ton of Russian fan. I was quite happy at the game as I had just got my new Nike Alpha Pro 2 cleats from after going through its reviews here, which was quite easy as the information on the site is laid out in a very simple man…

My SPG Amex trip to St. John, US Virgin Islands

…t. Thomas. There are several direct flights from all over the US including New York. I am not a fan of St. Thomas at all so I recommend heading straight for St. John. I ended up having 2 nights in St. Thomas this trip as a result of a cancelled flight. My advice is avoiding taxi drivers in St. Thomas as I found them, meaning multiple drivers, to be very dishonest and even threatening. But that’s another story for another day. St. John is very nice…

5 Awesome Things to do in Muscat, Oman

…forts that are only there for decoration-literally. It’s a nice place but new Muscat is tops for me. As you drive out to the very spread out new city, you notice it feels like a suburb in Southern California. The houses are gorgeous as you approach the beach. There’s a golf course where most of the American expats live and a little further up is the public beach. The beach is the center of much of the social life in Muscat. Omani’s drive up and d…

3 Days in the Outer Banks of North Carolina

…n walk on the boardwalk. It’s not a boardwalk like you might be used to in New Jersey, Delaware or Maryland. It’s a nice boardwalk without trashy tourist shops where you can stroll along the bay and get some great views. It kind of reminded me of the High Line in New York a bit in that you don’t think it’s going to be cool but it really is cool! As if I didn’t have enough food at Duck Donuts it was time to have some lunch with a view at the Sander…

…rt; which has several lodging options, including condos and cabins, with a new cottages under construction. The condo I stayed in was nice – a 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit with full kitchen, across the street from the well-regarded Bob Cupp-designed golf course.
